FAQs
I’ve never tried kinesiology before and am nervous - what should I expect?
Our sessions are always guided by you. You have control over the session and what we discuss. I like to think of my role as an interpreter between your body and mind - allowing you to be curious about anything that comes up in session.
We will start by having a chat, discussing what has brought you here, what is going on in your life and what you would like to work on. We will then work to identify the best goal or intention for our session. You will hop onto the massage table (fully clothed) and using muscle monitoring we will identify where there may be blockages and stress in your body and discuss these. I will then be guided by your body as to what it needs to come back into balance and clear these stressors or blocks. This may include a range of techniques including acupressure points, energy healing, crystals, and sound and colour therapy.
Do I need to have something in particular I want to work on?
No! Whilst it does help to have an intention about what you would like to work on, often you may be called to book in just because! Even if you don’t really know what kinesiology is, or why you are feeling called to book in - your body knows, so honour that feeling.
During our session we can see what is happening in your life, what your body wants to tell you and what the best thing to work on is.
How will I feel after a session?
As no session is the same, there is no one way you will feel after!
Some times you may feel relaxed or energised, other times something might come up that really gets you thinking. It’s a good idea to take note of anything that comes up for you in the days after your session.
Is there anything I should do after a session?
If you can, plan to have a grounded day after your session and be gentle with yourself. Make sure you drink a lot of water (and limit alcohol if you can) to help integrate things that came up during the session.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes. A session may include muscle monitoring and other exercises.
How many sessions will I need?
This will really depend on you. Some people can feel shifts after one session and for other people multiple sessions may be needed to get through the layers.
I would suggest at least 3 sessions to get the most benefits - however there is never any pressure to have multiple sessions. You may like to see how you feel after your first session and decide then.
